Home made CANDLER ~ works GREAT!

Post by Poultryprincess » Sun May 15, 2016 12:46 am

I have made various candlers but always encountered problems.
The biggest problem is turning the egg in my hand over the light.
Major distress when I would crack or drop the egg!!!!

By fluke I now have a candler that will support the egg as I turn it over the light.

CANDLER
- roll of curling ribbon ( top & bottom plastic piece can be removed )
- small LED light ($3.00)
- small piece of fabric to wrap around light

Wrap the fabric around the LED light so it fits snug inside tube.
Center the light to fit to plastic on top.
Place Bottom plastic @ the bottom.
If there is a wrist strap on your light, thread thru the bottom opening.
Center the ON/OFF button in the bottom plastic piece.

When you are ready to candle, place egg on top groove.
Turn egg while using pencil to mark air sac
The groove on the plastic top supports the egg.
Egg just sits inside the groove, no holding needed.

<< i took pic in a dark room to show the air sac in the egg.
my iPhone kept flooding light & wouldn't let me take a dark pic.
Trust me, the LED light shows the air sac Perfectly in a dark room >>
