SEX the CHICK Challenge!

I'm with Killerbunny, I say boy, girl, girl, boy, based solely on length of middle toes :D I don't know about Silkies, but in my own chicks, boys always have longer toes than girls pretty early on. But, it can be hard to tell from a picture unless they're all lined up in a row!

Thanks for posting the pics!
So, I don't have a clue what I am looking for, but here are my guesses....

Now that I think about it, I should have added another choice:
Chick #1,2,3,4 are all chickens. That's the level I'm at. :rofl:

As mentioned before, votes are visible to everyone.

Please explain ~

#1, #2 & #4 are from the Same parents.
( but #4 is a showgirl )

#2 & #3 have long tail feathers.
So "WHY" would they not be the Same sex?

{ Pics courtesy of the iPhone 5S }
You may be right, I didn't even look at tail feathers. With silkies I hear breeders talk about crest size and direction, smaller crest going backwards more indicates male, also hear any sign of a comb indicates male. Also hear them talk about beak shape as to male and female, but you will have to Google that one.I've never heard them talk about early feathering but you could be on to something. I'm guessing the sex, I wish I knew but I don't.

As all of these are still to young to sex properly the only correct answer is They are all Silkie Chickens.
So unless you vent sex them we will have to have the pictures until they are 6 Months Old or they crow or lay an egg.

It's interesting how the breeds are all different. When I hatched Australorps (not very many) and Aussie crosses, I could tell boys from girls at day old from the heaviness of the boys foot and shank. The girls always looked very fine boned.

Does chick 3 have a vaulted head? If it does I find vaulted heads 90% of the time to be a hen.
