Ok so I am preparing to lock my incubator down, I just candled the eggs removed 5, only one of which was an early quitter, the others were yolkers. Most of the eggs in this batch were shipped, I let them rest for 36 hours before I put them in the incubator. My problem now is that there is tons of movement inside the eggs but about 90% of them have air sacs that go almost all the way around and then take a huge dip down one side of the (picture a mouth with its tongue hanging out). So my question is...is there any preferable placement of these eggs for lock down i.e. wonky air sac side up? down? in a carton etc...

For me I always have them on their side to hatch, I would think with wonky air cell that would work best.

Air sacs with a dip? as if the edge was cut out? They could have pipped internally already. That part should face upwards, since that is where their beak will be, helps prevent drowning if there's too much moisture in the egg.

I have them upright in cut down egg cartons. They haven't pipped internally...the air sacs have been like this since the first candling on day 7.

I think you have done the right thing, air sac upright.
I had no luck hatching (very limited experience!) anything with a detatched/ lop sided air sac but I think others have had success.

UPDATE: of the 16 eggs with bad air sacs 8 have hatched and two more have pips. Today is day 22.

Final total 14 of the 16 shipped eggs that made it to lockdown have hatched. The two that didn't hatch appear to have been fully developed but with detached air sacs (I am not going to break them open) where as the others that did hatch had large saddle shaped air sacs.
