Re: Bantam eggs hatching
They look lovely, glad somebody had a great broody hatch, means there is hope for the rest of us. :)Colleen Kinzie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 3:36 pmPresenting the new family
10 fertile eggs
10 lively chicks
8 were my little Cochin banty eggs
1 a barnyard mix hen
1 red layer hen from pullets plus
The red layer crossed with the banty rooster are ideally what I'd like to end up with. Smaller hens that are still decent layersIMG_5978.JPG
Ross' boys came through. Woohoo
First time hatching banty chicks They are soooooo tiny and cute

Re: Bantam eggs hatching
Mama got off nest overnight at day 3. I had her locked into pen. I got worried so took 8 eggs and left her only twoOntario Chick wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2017 10:28 amThey look lovely, glad somebody had a great broody hatch, means there is hope for the rest of us. :)Colleen Kinzie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2017 3:36 pmPresenting the new family

Put them in incubator until day 18 when I discovered one hatched and dried so gave her back all eggs. All hatched even the ones I let her keep
Ps. Once I unlocked her pen and let her come and go as she pleased she stayed in the nest faithfully! She has a mind of her own and obviously knows more than me!!!!!
