The Standard of Perfection
Any serious breeder should have a copy of the SOP. I have a copy of the 2010 version thats about a year old. Well the APA has just released the new 44th Edition.
How would I know if there have been any changes with the breeds I work with without buying it? is there a summary of changes somewhere?
Thanks Guys!

All right I found the answer!
"A few new breed descriptions and illustrations were added to the new edition but no major changes were made to any of the existing breeds." John Monaco Sr. from the APA page on FB.

Thanks Ross.
I guess some of the breeds added/changed are:
Marons, 3 varieties, Black Copper, White and Wheaten.
Ko Shamo.

They don't really change the standard of a breed do they? I thought they would just add varieties within a breed and new breeds onto it. I know the standard has been the standard for a long time

I don't know when it happened, but they increased the size of Buckeyes by half a pound, from the original standard - not sure if that's a good thing or not.

I guess over time they must change the standards because I have old vet books here from early 1900s, in them are photos of prize winning chickens and they often don't look like today's birds.
