This one is early too! Hatched this evening and wasn't due until Sunday. She has one more egg. Started with 6. One got kicked out of nest, 2 didn't develop and one died half way through. Hoping for a second chick :jumpy:

One more hatching end of next week. I think I will give my last two broodies some eggs. I feel bad for them.

Not a great video but had to share. This little bugger has been doing this all day 🤣. I've never seen a chick do this before. Maybe because it's a Bantam with a standard mom? It's a very adventurous chick.

Another new mom today. Pebbles was broody most of last summer. I couldn't see that again this year. She's got 2 more eggs pipped.

Update on the oldest two chicks that are being raised by the standard hen. These two have a home to go to once mom is done with them. They are 6 weeks old now. My one rooster,Spanky, really loves hanging out with these two. He helps find them treats and protects them when they dust bath. They have been part of the flock from day one and only Stella the grouchy cochin has been annoyed by them. The little girl still tries to ride around on mom's back 😆
