I sold some of my silkie chicks, this is the first year that I've had people only want 2. They didn't realize day old chicks needed heat, thought if they kept them in the house they would be warm enough. Had to explain to them that in this heat I'm sure they had their air conditioner on and that the chicks needed a constant warm environment. Had people leave to head over to the TSC store to buy a heat lamp.

Don't get me started about this year.....pasty butt...what do you mean you need to clean them more than once a day....my chicks are screaming ..what's wrong with them....they are cold, put them under a heat lamp...my chicks are panting....what's wrong with them....they are too hot..move the heat lamp away. OMG, this year has killed me for selling chicks.
I only sell in ones or 2 to people I know well otherwise, I insists on 3 or more.

Ours are doing well, @Kbr42 . Happy in their broody house/pen. Decided that they also liked the flock favourite treat, grapes.

That's Cilla looking on from the other side of fence in the first shot, and Wallace in the third picture.

They really are. All of them come running whenever they see me. Not because they like me, but because they know from experience that often when I show up there are treats involved. ;-)

Ok so I blame all of you. Except maybe @kenya
She tried but the rest of you dragged me down 😂. Especially @Farrier1987
I currently have 3 first-time moms-to-be sitting on eggs. The first ones are due to hatch in 8 days. Then one week after that and then 4 days after that. And I have 2 new broody girls within the last 2 days. Only one of my current broodies is a big girl. I did give her some of the big girl eggs that wee Sherman may have fertilized. Only one started to develop and quit early. Thankfully I also gave her 4 bantam eggs and 3 of them are developing. So all of the girls are sitting on Old English Bantam eggs. It's going to be a full house very soon.

Sure, blame me. It was YOU that poured that drink and looked at it sitting on the table. And it was YOU that decided to have just a sip. But go ahead, blame me if you want to.
