I use AI quite a bit for my silkies and Cochins. I had a few requests to do a demonstration. Thought I might share it it here for those interested.

OHHHHH thank you for posting!!! I saw on fb that this is how you breed a lot of your birds and I really wanted to bug you and find out more. Artificial Insemination would make breeding so easy on the hens especially if you only have a couple or a very randy rooster.

You are very welcome, some pens I don't even bother putting Roos in, really does save the hens and you know each one is being covered.
You can also pedigree breed by separating each hen into single cages so you know who is producing what.

Excellent! Did you notice we made it a sticky? it will always be at the top of the Poultry Breeding and Projects Page! Is there any chance you could do a part 2 for the insemination?

Keep clicking on the video & I get to see rosey running , rosey in her blanket & rosey doing her station , plus some guy complaining bout the world ( didn't watch him long . Hahee
