Early chick prices.

I can see why chicks at this time of year go so high. If you are thinking about showing then you need those little guys either here now or very soon, if they hatch in end of May or beginning of June, then they are only three months by September when the shows start. I remember watching chicks at Alfred going for $15 to $17 each but I get it.
Even for myself, last year I bought 3 Ameraucanas 12 weeks old, however by June they were laying so I hatched a bunch of their chicks, I sold the parents as ready to lay and at the end of summer I sold the daughters for ten each. Those little girls were already making money for me. The funny thing was I got them at the end of a long sale and only paid $12 for the box of three!
