I wonder if putting in another roost might stop them from sleeping in the nest boxes? I have 2 sets of roosts and I notice that there are always 2 groups on the roosts at night, one group on each roost.

It's a couple of my EO hens, they have lots to roost on but at night a couple like to hunker down for the night in the nest boxes poop

I look at it this way , if you give a chicken a thought process , would it rather sleep on a cold old wooden board/chair (roost)or a nice soft /warm feathered lazy boy (nest box ) ? Some do some don't . Luck :sleep-027:
