throw science and logic aside, if you could magically have any new phenotype in chickens what would you want?!
new colouration, comb type or colour, feather type, eggs , splice a trait from another species of bird, anything!

my picks: macaroni penguin tufts, eye spots (like a grey peacock pheasant), tuxedo colouration, lammergeier beard, blue spangling (does that exist?), and maybe also the wing 'bar' pigeons have



and of course anything more dinosaur- related non-vestigial tail, wing claws, TEETH??

I instantly had the same idea as soon as I saw the title, lol.

How about a black hen with white under feathers like the way a red sex-link is red but usually has white underneath and often has white tail feathers. The rooster would be black with white hackles and white tail. Years ago a man bought mixed bantams from me and the chicks came out with black bodies and white head but later were normal colours when they grew up. He called them Hereford Holstein chickens because that's what happens if you mix those two breeds of cattle, black body with a white head.

I would want a chicken that was Liver Chestnut. Its my favorite colour in horses because they almost always shine and alwaysnlook clean. Maybe Inam just sick of white ponies, white rabbits, and white chickens? I guess thats a pretty boring wish, but thats mine. The tuxedo colouration sounds nice too though.

Totally that one, or one of the more exotic pheasant colours, but peacock rules!!!!!!':)

There's a couple I'd like. First, is a chicken that looks just like a roadrunner bird. But I'm actually kind of working on that one, so the ability to make it magically happen would probably take some of the fun out :/ Second would be a real blue chicken...bluejay blue. Cornflower blue. I wouldn't mind ducks that colour either. I like blue :)

I would also make a canada goose chicken just cause we had a topic on that eons ago. And a blue bird chicken. Cause i could.
