Doug the Chicken Man,
what is the name of the book you have on Silkies?
I bought the only 2 books I saw on Amazon...kind of a waste.
The info was so general & beginner stuff.
I was hoping for something more in depth.
Thanx

So...."chicken breeding to SOP for dummies" doesn't exist. So either we follow the ridiculously complicated recipes of "how we got here" or we chart our own course. Doing things wrong so far has been ok so far. But i've thrown in the towel on this breed. Too early really now that I know it was my management that lead to slow growth/maturity and slow start to laying in spring.

The Serenity Prayer comes to mind. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

Think of you often Al, if I have had any brains at all, I would have stuck with one breed one variety and by now they would have to be completely and brilliantly perfect, considering the time and effort I have invested in the insanity of trying to breed Blue anything. ;0
