One mystery solved, the "Dark chick" (on left) I hoped would be a cockerel ???
and had really hard time deciding WHAT he was???
He is a hen feathered cockerel!!!! First I have ever seen that. Apparently if you hang around long enough, you will eventually come across everything?

He is 2.5 month old and there is no doubt he is a cockerel, wattles and comb are now prominent, but definitely hen feathered.

WOW, I wonder if he'll stay that way? I also wonder if there is a market for hen-feathered Wyandottes! Amaze and confuse your friends, come one, come all, see the eighth wonder of the world!

The only way we will find out how he will look after molt at 5 month is if he lives at your place Jan :))

Hmm, In wonder what would happen if I put him over my black orpington girls? Hmm...No! Bad Jan! No more projects! (But maybe just one more) No! You've already got 100 birds to overwinter! NO! (But I'd bet they'd be so pretty) But what if he makes more boys that are henfeathered, it would take you even longer to sex them! (Cooooolll!)
Sigh. I am sorely tempted, but the little bit of common sense I have left is winning lol.
