FINALLY a Happy flock!

Post by Poultryprincess » Thu Jun 02, 2016 10:40 pm

I wrote awhile ago about my Adolescent Showgirl cockerel & my poor screaming pullets & hen.
He didn't seem to be making a "Connection" & was rough with the girls.
After a few weeks apart, it was time to try again.

The cockerel got a man "TRIM"
The 2 1/2 year old Showgirl hen got a vent "TRIM"
The 2 Silkie pullets got a vent "TRIM"

The 1st hour there were a few screams & chasing.
The cockerel would pick up food & try to tempt the girls.
They weren't falling for it, but things seemed mellow.
When I closed the pen up this evening, he gave them some "good nite" luvin'.
Then silence & huddling together.

WHEW ~ finally some peace & quiet.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Good news! Now, if the ladies don't stop laying for you, you should have fertile eggs in a few days time!

I have to wait for eggs!
Only the 2 /12 yr old hen is laying.
The 2 pullets haven't started yet.
Can't wait to hatch some cute blue Showgirls (*o*)
