Putting days old chicks together

Post by Eklectic » Sun May 22, 2016 8:38 am

I just acquired days old chicks and ducklings from 2 different places, Right now they are all in different brooders.
How long do I have to wait before putting all the chicks and all the ducklings in their own bigger brooders?
Thank you for any help.

Are they from a hatchery or from a breeder?

well, having just had ducklings and chicks together i honestly would not combine them again.....the ducks are SO messy with the water, all my chicks were constantly wet....and hiding under the heat plate constantly....
BUT if they are all similar sized you should be able to just put them together....i would just make sure that no one is potentially vaccinated with a shedding vaccine in case they "give" the shedding vaccine to the non vaccinated birds.

One group of both came from a hatchery and the others, again chicks and ducklings from a breeder.
