What color are we going to be?

KB, The Blue Columbian in the previous picture is the "chunky" one at 2.5 month he is almost as large as the 3 month old, looks like he is going to be very nice.
Had to re-read the thread to see how the train of thought went since day one.
Since my original goal was re-envigorated Columbian Wyandottes, I think I now have enough Columbian pullets to do a "sibling" mating next year.
They will still be split to Blue Columbian, but both varieties seem to be clean enough, almost no mossiness at this point, and accept for the hen feathered oddball, pretty even bunch I am very happy with.
Some are starting to campaign to be the chosen ones ;)

There is going to be a trio of Blue Columbians looking for a good home come October, you may consider.
The "chunky" boy would be a great addition to your meat production ;)

Very kindly and conveniently these two girls have arranged themselves to show the difference in the wing feather color in Blue Columbian and Columbian.
Now I need all the cockerels to do the same thing, to help me choose a keeper.

OK so we did "talk". Went out for a little breakfast at Constance Lake, back to OCs looked at birds, you know the rest!

Which one is the dark chick? Did it become blue Columbian? OC, are your birds now a combination of blue and Columbian or do you still have pure Columbian as well?

Yes, they are now Columbian split for Blue Columbian.
This was the year of F3 (for crying out loud) of outcross to blue to re- invigorate the Columbian, since I Wasn't able to find new stock.
I still have Columbian hens and if I live long enough, I should be back to Columbians only by next year, provided I find good homes for all the Blue Columbians I produced this year ;)

OC, your chickens sure are well trained for picture taking. You should write a book about how you train them. :)
