Re: Sex the Faverolles (again)!
I hope @Giffen Farms jumps in because the secondaries look a lot like pullets?

Re: Sex the Faverolles (again)!
I have no experience and don't know what to look for, so won't chime in (couldn't even hazard a guess), but I do hope they are mostly pullets. Maybe just one cockerel for the lady waiting for one.

https://www.bressefarms.com/videos--fea ... hicks.html I found this website but I don't know if the info is correct since I just found out how to use wings to sex chicks yesterday
I did notice at an early age that the personalities are different and now it is more pronounced. Our 4 heavier chicks (we weighed them all) have larger combs and wattles and fight like roosters. Which makes sense since we have 8 total.

Re: Sex the Faverolles (again)!
A question for the Gurus...the breeder of our orpingtons said she cannot tell the sex by the feathers...Is this an unreliable way to determine the sex of all breeds or only certain breeds?

@lolotsung , only certain breeds. I'm told that Faverolles are one of the breeds where feather sexing is pretty reliable.

Re: Sex the Faverolles (again)!
Faverolles are a question of colour rather than feather sexing as such. I'm thinking there are a lotof pullets here with the brown secondary feathers but who knows, I thought the last ones were mostly pullets but not so much. Have a clearer idea in a few days.
