Oh the white duckling is a call duckling I hatched a few weeks ago. He is very happy to have other ducklings to live with now. haha.

I got my Performance Poultry chicks on Saturday! I had ordered 5 each of Barnevelders, Chanteclers, Speckled Sussex, and White Laced Red Cornish. Unfortunately, they apparently have been having trouble hatching out enough Chanteclers so I didn't get any. I'm pretty disappointed as that was what I was looking forward to the most. Maybe I'll try to get some next year.

Everyone seems happy and healthy. They had an unreal appetite the first day but seem to have mellowed out. A few of the Cornish had some pasty butt going on when they arrived but they seem to be all good now.

Here are the little fluff butts!

Look nice chicks. Several people on this sit have chanteclers so perhaps they might have some.

We went and picked up our order from Performance Poultry Friday night! We had bought 6 "Ameraucanas" (EEs), and 5 Silver Sebrights. Everyone seems to be doing great so far and I'm so happy to finally have them home, it feels like it's been such a long wait.

Just wanted to post an update on how my chicks were doing. They're a couple days shy of 7 weeks now. Unfortunately I lost a few of them to a hole in their pen that got overlooked. Now I am down to 2 Sebrights, and 4 "Ameraucanas"

Anyways, here are some pictures! They're not the best quality, I had to take them with my phone.

One of the Sebrights. Both of the two that are left are definitely roosters. Does anyone know of someone who might have some Sebrights in the area? I would really like to get a couple hens to go with these guys.

This Ameraucana I am thinking may turn out to be a rooster. I'm not entirely sure why, just something about it makes me think rooster.

Inquisitive little guys, aren't they?

Very nice. Pretty little things. Don't feel bad about the hole. I had a turkey poult fall down a washout hole by a fencepost and we didn't find him for a while. All we could hear was sad peeping noises until we got him.

Very cute birds. Isn't it funny when taking pictures with your phone and the birds come right up to it to see if it's food.
