Sexing 4 young Partridge Chanteclers

Post by Ajmen08 » Thu Sep 09, 2021 11:45 pm

I have 4 young Partridge Chanteclers and I would love some opinions on if they are pullets or cockerels. Here are some pics. I’ve included a few of each youngster.
Thank you in advance 😊

To me, the last 3 pictures look like roo, and the others like pullet, but I’m no expert!

So my guesses.......i just numbered your photos 1-13 from top to bottom
1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 look like pullet to me
3, 11, 12, 13 look like cockerel to me.

With the partridge colouring/patterning a giveaway for a cockerel is brick red feathers coming in on the shoulders. Pullets cannot have this brick red colour located on the shoulders just because of the way they pattern, but cockerels can. so if you see brick red on the shoulder it's likely a cockerel.
