Spangled Hamburghs and others

Post by Farrier1987 » Fri Jan 24, 2020 10:50 am

Poking at Kijiji I found this ad,

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-livestock/norfo ... 1482990846

Anybody on here have Spangled Hamburgs? They always catch my eye, and are supposed to be a good layer. About the size of a leghorn, rose comb so frostbite should be less.

@ross used to have them, but I'm not sure if he still does. He had nothing good things to say about the breed, as I recall.

I had bantam silver spangled Hamburg's, they were great birds, flighty but very personable and would always greet you wondering if any treats were coming. Fantastic layers.

I also have mutts, would be fine if you could identify the layer. Just like pretty colour fedders running around the yard.

Those Hamburgs are lovely birds...i know little about the breed...on the mutt topic, i only have 7 mutt birds left...2 " brother' EE roosters that are so sweet i couldnt cull them so have to put up with fitting them in unless i found other homes for them, 4 blk sex link hens ane one white leghorny cross hen...all the rest of my birds are straight breeds and thats been my aim...focussed on the Brabanters, BCMs, Welsummers, Gold Laced Wyandottes and Plymouth Barred Rocks... :run:

Mutts are easy to raise , no guide lines can never go wrong as long as they lay .
