Very pretty hens! The second one looks to have almost charcoal colouring. Would a black/splash pairing result in 50/50 splash/black offspring?

Black x splash would be 100% blue unless the hen you think is black is actually a dark blue then you would get 50 % splash and 50% blue.
I suspect my 2nd hen may actually be dark blue hard to tell till you breed them.

Heres a picture of the 2 black hens with the blue roo in front, here they both look black compaired to him but you are correct she has a bluish under tone to her when seen on her own.

I don’t have proper hens for him right now :/. The frizzle one chases around a mixed hen that he is with but even then, not too interested. And the other one, stormy, just hangs out with/under The Rooster (frizzle)- he’s only about 6 months old though. I need a hen BADLY. I had a painted silkie hen, but she passed a few months ago. Not sure what happened :(. I was told she was older, but not sure how old. If anyone can spare a silky hen or two, PM me! I search kijiji every day. I am trying to avoid roosters though. Right now the boys get along great so I don’t want to wreck that. And chicks won’t really solve my dilema.

The Wyoming sale is coming up end of may perhaps you could get something there. Post here that you are looking for a hen perhaps someone has one or knows someone who has one.
Unfortunatly this time of year its hard to get a hen, when I sell my hens I usually sell with a rooster as its usually the rooster I want to get rid of.
If your one boy is still young his attitude towards the frizzle could change drastically as he gets older or when a hen is added. I've had silkie boys together for years with some minor fights which they usually work out on their own. Hopefully someone has a hen for you.

Well my first chick from my blue male hatched, not sure which one is the mom though, hes with 2 blacks a partridge and a white hen, all beautiful girls. Anyway the chick is a beautiful silvery grey with an orange cast, kinda wondering if it isn't out of the partridge hen. Its lovely , nice feathering on the toes large vaulted scull. Can't wait to see what else I get, more hatching.

Ok Heres pictures of his first 2, more hatching. You can see the first chick has a bluish undertone with a reddish overlay, the second chick is blue. Have to take a picture in daylight this doesn't show the true colour of the blue chick its a pretty silvery colour.

It's a good thing you live too far away from me. They are such cute little fluff balls.
