You bet! I've already done that and the egg disappears in a second! She is only 8 months old and had just started laying. I'm a little nervous to put anything under her to hatch out. She's a little young for that I think....not sure if I'm correct or not. thanks for your thoughts..
I say,"go with your gut" - whatever you are comfortable with doing. Since she's that young and a first-timer, I agree it's probably best to stay the course with the incubator, and try to graft the chicks once they are hatched. Do you have a back-up brooder in case things go south?

@Jaye You bet! That's where they spend the first night. It's a small area so I move the chicks first then add the broody hen at night. It's worked in the past. Of course, I did then take the outside..May be a bit too cold for that this time. :wave:

Nope, today is hatch day! So far nothing....nadda, zippo, zilch, not a pip or a peep :dunno: I hate this part of the waiting game.....

It always astounds me how fast they go from looking exhausted/dead to running around like crazy things! Thanks for the baby fix.
