Well this isn't looking good with this much chicken experience leaning towards boy!
Thanks for the opinions. Anybody want a very friendly mutt Cockerel?

Happy, compare the feet of the two. Boys should have longer, thicker toes, especially the middle toe by 4-6 weeks old. Unless they have the gene for extra toes, I've discovered that this sometimes expresses as clown shoes feet, even in girls lol

I'll keep hoping! WWW will watch their feet...for now Shirley has smaller feet but "it" is an all around smaller bird than Laverne. I think the only thing they actually inherited from their dad is their feathered legs. Everything else about them so far is rock.

Ok here's the same two chicks at 6 weeks old. Laverne (the one most have thought was female) is huge compared to Shirley and has massive feet.
Shirley was the one from the beginning that acted more like a roo but lately has been much more subdued. Neither one stands out to me as "roo-ish" now but maybe that's because they both are. The pure Cochin that is 4 days younger than these two is half their size and so ugly only a mother could love her.

I'm still on the fence about Laverne, but leaning towards pullet, and still thinking Shirley is a Squiggy. They aren't crisply barred, they are cuckoo, so that makes sexing by colour next to impossible, especially before their final chick moult at 4-5 months...but by then you should know for sure anyway!

Shirley left/Laverne right

Almost 9 weeks old and for the past week I've been thinking that whatever these two are they're either both boys or both girls...leaning heavily to boys since I have never seen a BR hen develop waddles and comb like these two. And Cochin girls are very slow to mature. I've noticed a few feathers in their pen so checked today for new feathers coming in. Pretty sure I'm seeing saddle feathers coming in on both of them :(
Looking like Lenny and Squiggy.
