Actually Wyandotte hens have wattles of about the same size, so all hope isn't lost yet :)
I don't see any pointy feathers on either hackles or tail coverts, are they ? Pointy I mean?

They are just coming in. Loads of skinny little feathers just beginning to open on their saddle. I tried getting a pic but as docile as these two are they HATED me touching their backs to separate feathers in order to see them so definitely not a one person job lol. I will love to be proven wrong but right now I'm pretty sure I've got a couple boys.
