Chickens ~ choosing who stays & who goes?
I definetly "will" keep my standard EE flock though they are almost 6 yrs old & egg pickin's are slim
I will also keep 1/2 the Fancy roos, but choosing who stays is dificult.
As far as eating them....hmmm don't really want to eat black silkie meat.
( I am sure it's delicious, but nah, not really appetizing to me )
I had hoped to breed & keep the cream, as I "Thought" I had 4 rooster & 11 females
BUT seems I have only 7 females & 9 males!!!!!!!!! ( today I found 2 more )
Ackkkk perhaps I need to sit with pen & paper to work out who I can NOT part with.
They are all beautiful birds, but I don't have the space to tinker - sigh.
THANXXXXXX for the feedback, puts things in perspective (*o*)
