Ridley Bronze Turkeys
I have 11 turkeys total I have raised to use for breeding and this year was to be my year to either sell some babies or young turkeys.
I have a tom (Tommy - named by my wife)raised from an egg out west and another tom from some poults purchased from Performance Poultry.
The remaining 9 hens are a mix of eggs hatched from last year and poults from performance poultry.
All were sold to me as Ridley Bronze.
Trouble is, I have had 5 out of 30 eggs that hatched this year hatch white babies.
I was confused at first and did a quick search online to see what genetics would make white offspring from bronze parents.
Looks like 1 tom and at least 1 hen have some White Holland in their lineage.
Anyone know if theres a way to sort out who is what easily?(pretty sure i know what tom was doing his job this year)
Im very disappointed.
I thought I have been helping to raise and produce a rare Canadian strain of turkey to find out they are not what they were sold to me as.

Ridley Bronze Turkeys
I think a pure white bird is something that happens with Ridleys. The first time I read about them was this article on theStar.com. I'll try and find some of the other links I have and post them. They are very rare, I would love to see what there babies turn out like.

Thanks for the link!
I remember seeing that article about "Mr Bigglesworth" before but didnt remember the paragraph about a white bronze.
So I might be able to sell them as Ridley Bronze still instead of just Bronze.
