I recently sold some chicks and not mentioning any names, they're convinced that they got 5 roosters and 1 hen, the chicks are JUST sexable within the last week +/- I don't normally sell sexed chick all are straight run to avoid such instances, I've been raising chickens for 12+ and only the past 3-4 years have been raising for quality over quantity, I can tell the sexed apart at a young age by now.
My question is can I see some pictures of your chicks to reensure my judgment, they wanted 6 so I boxed up 3 of each, I don't have room to raise roosters for the freezer, otherwise I would keep them back and only sell off excess sexed chick's.
When my son gets up from his nap I'll take some pictures of them to compare by, the males combs/wattle are a brighter red and the females is almost a white/pal colour and smaller.
Thanks in advance,
Colin

black copper marans chicks should be black on the back, and white on the wing tips and chest and tummy and underside of the throat.....the young chicks shouldn't be red at all...? do you have any photos of them before you boxed them up?

In my experience (limited) my French Black Copper Marans Rooster's combs are considerably larger by the 3 week. I have two 3 week old chicks that I am pretty sure are roos. I will take pictures.

I will also take pictures of my 8 week olds that I am pretty sure are pullets.

LOL okay, sorry about that. their combs get red really really early-about 3 weeks at the latest. and the girls stay very light until well after 9 weeks.
