Pictures of your Performance Poultry Birds!

Here are some of my birds from my Performance Poultry April 30th order. I am pleased with the birds so far.
The Delewares were ordered straight run and I ended up with 50/50, lost a lot of this breed in the first 5 weeks or so for no apparent reason and they are very skittish. I lost 2 Mottled Javas as well but all 5 of the ones that lived are pullets they ate each others tail feathers in the beginning but I dealt with that and now they look kind of like a rumpless cross but they will grow back. I am actually quite fond of the Javas and wouldn't mind trying to get a rooster and breeding some. The Gold Laced Wyandottes are pretty but have a lot of variation in their combs...will see how they mature. I am pleased with the Ameracaunas/EE's they all have slate legs and muffs not much colour variety and we will see how blue their eggs are. I didn't get any pics of the speckled sussex yet but will they are ok and growing well...I have seen better examples but nice birds anyway. These are some of the birds from the surviving 35.

Very nice! The delawares look huge, is there a lot of chicken under the feathers? It will be interesting to see how they look fully mature, this is an awkward teenage stage and yet they all look good.
Looks like you are going to get decent lacing on the wyandottes too.

The Delawares were order because I wanted to try a heritage meat bird, they are pretty hefty right now that I have let them out with everyone...they were not tolerating being caged and were ripping their combs and wattles on the chicken wire (very neurotic birds).

Interesting, they are not supposed to have temperaments like that, they should be more laid back. I hear they are good egg layers!
Someone in the USA has re- created them and those look very good.
Are you going to continue breeding any of your other chickens besides the Javas?

The Delaware hens are lovely, very docile. If one of the roosters ends up growing on me I may try breeding some.
I will be breeding my French Black Copper Marans and some euskal oiloa birds I got off Flat Rock Farm.
