Same thing happened to me @ PP - thought I was getting Ameraucana but was EE's.
On the plus side those EE's lay nice green eggs more often than the other birds.

Yes I have noticed that most hatchery "Ameraucanas" I have seen are actually Easter eggers being sold as Ameraucana. About half of these "Ameraucana" chicks dont have muff/beards, but it's what I expected coming from a hatchery so I am not surprised or dissapointed, we just want blue/green eggs :)

3 of the chicks had No muffs / beaurd, so I sold them.
I LUV the look of the Muffs.
6 Years later & I still have those 3 birds....plus their 2 offspring
Great layers

I placed a small order with PP for the first time this year, picked up my order the end of April. I ordered 25 birds, I decided to down size and sold 10 the day I picked them up. I kept the 5 exchequer leghorn pullet chicks and the 10 straight run Mottled Houdans, everyone is doing great. As for the actual quality of the breeds I will have to see as the grow.

Barred Holland cockerel, six weeks old from Performance. Size is quite variable amongst the four cockerels, from large to runty. It's worth getting way more cockerels than you actually want to select from, I've found.

Buff rock pullet, six weeks, from Performance poultry. Mostly feathers, not much chicken under there but I'm looking for laying ability rather than dual purpose so this may work out. All pullets look very similar.

dark cornish chicks, Performance, six weeks old: Very pleased with what I have.

I love that buff rock pullet!

I'm hoping to move my birds into their coop this weekend so will be getting some better pictures soon. It's hard to get good shots when they're in their brooder/grow out pen.

Everyone seems to be doing really well, though. I had one Speckled Sussex that was looking possibly like a failure to thrive case but now I can hardly tell which one is "Smalls".

Myself and several others I know have had excellent luck with various breeds [but have not ordered Chanteclers before] through Performance Poultry. Only 1 loss out of 50 different birds myself! I have always found them very helpful and professional.

You could try Skara Brae farms in Campbellford for the Chanteclers...it is a farm run by a vet

Well my Performance Poultry birds are ok for the most part but I ordered 5 speckled sussex pullets and ended up with a roo and I ordered 5 gold laced wyandotte pullets and ended up with a roo.
