We ordered eight breeds from Performance last Spring. Lost one chick out of sixty around the first week. Of all the breeds we ordered we were most impressed with the #1 Dark Brahmas, #2 Delawares and #3 Leghorns. Almost all are laying now. I'm tracking the eggs to gage production of each breed. So far, so good.

Ordering was easy enough, and they replied promptly to emails between ordering and pick-up date. Our scheduled pick-up was delayed by two or three days if memory serves.

I will admit, they could improve their pick-up procedure. I witnessed a great deal of needless crazy-making. If you're prepared with a thermos of fresh coffee and a biscuit (no coffee shops in the vicinity), coupled with an easy-going attitude, you're golden.

6 White Leghorn Pullets (pick-up end of May). They started laying mid-December; XSM at first (to be expected). Up to Med size now, which is good in my opinion, considering it is January after all. I fully expect them to all be laying Lg eggs by March.

Greg Oaks in Guelph has the best Chanteclers IMO.

I ordered from Performance Poultry a few years ago.
I found Jason (?) to be extremely helpful over the phone, letting me know any color changes in the birds offered.
Quite a pleasant fellow. He was quite busy when I arrived to pick up, but I had been told to expect that.
I picked up about 30 birds & none had any problems, all were healthy.
*** The only word of caution, is to know the breed before buying.
I ordered 6 Ameracaunas & realized a few months later that I actually had 6 Easter Eggers.
The colors were Not of Ameracauna breed, & only 1/2 of them had muffs.
BUT the 3 EE's I kept, lay nice green shelled eggs.
I sold a few of the birds I didn't want, but overall I kept all the birds I purchased from Performance.
I enjoy the assortment of different breeds in my flock, & would order again if I needed something.
(was a long drive though )
