I've been calling this hen our Vampire Hen. It looks like she has a couple of fangs on either side of her beak.
Anyone ever seen this before? and what is it called? I haven't been able to find anything online; perhaps I'm doing a wrong search.
The hen with fangs.
The hen with fangs.

If you look back at a post of mine about the snake in the chickenhouse. I think that if that snake either scared the hen before she laid the egg, or started to eat the egg and then spit it out, that this is the result. Not 100% sure of that, but it is my guess. It could also be a early sign of leprosy developing.

Hope this helps.

Was she debeaked at all before you got her? It almost looks like the sides growing back.

I can't tell if she is one of our RSL's or one of the red hens (not a RSL) that was given to us.

I just wondered if at some time the tip of her beak had been removed and it was growing back more slowly than the sides.
