Pretty cool that it worked! I have a LOT of common mallow here, I'm thinking of doing something similar with mallow seeds and scratch grain. Maybe even making treat blocks to freeze and reheat later. Everybody likes Rice Krispies squares, right? Lol

I wonder if it makes the eggs taste? Used to be fed to horses too. I hate the stuff the smell gets to me.

Good question KB. I'll check the taste the next few days. I found the smell to be pleasant, but I only cooked up a small amount. If one were cooking enough for horses I can see that it could be obnoxious in larger quantities.

Speaking of flax, I bought a loaf of bread with flax in it and gave the last crust to the chickens, thinking they would consider it a real treat, but no, they totally ignored it!!!

Was looking up omega-3 on this site and found this thread. Firstly, Labradors, I can't believe your hens turned their beaks up at the bread. I just tossed a couple of ends to my hens and there was pandemonium.
