That's too bad, I wonder if the warm weather bringing in wild birds has something to do with it?

Birds can house this virus for periods of time and it can be triggered by stress( ie temp fluctuations ) but my guess is movement of vaccinated and non vaccinated birds..but with that... the possibilities are endless .. ie wild birds ( sparrows ) rodents both can carry it and not be affected . We will never know.. protection and prevention are the best defense.

Vaccinated my crew in January...thankfully one less thing to worry about. Now let's make it through this season without another AI outbreak???

Does anyone have a list of commonly used vaccines and whether they are shedding or non-shedding?

I am not sure of all the vaccines out there, I am sure someone with more knowledge will add more info or correct me.

I ordered LT-IVAX, which is a live virus tissue culture origin vaccine, not is not suppose to shed and cause problems to non-vaccinated birds. It is administered via a drop in the eye to birds 4 weeks or older. I comes in a vial to treat 1000 birds and must be used within 2 hours (I believe) after mixing.

Another vaccine is Innovax-ILT which is used to treat both Marek's and ILT. It is administered by injection to 18 day old embryos or day old chicks. I don't know much more about this one or how commonly it is used.
