Has anyone seen a bumble foot core this large
No cutting required. Just pulled and wiggled very gently!
Must be a huge relief

yep...last hen with bumblefoot here was that big.....after it came out i squished and managed to get even more! blech. she must be so happy it's out!!!! good luck catching up with her tomorrow LOL.

Blecchh. Yes, I've seen them that big and bigger, I've got some roosters that are famous for them. By the time they're limping, the bumble is the size of a marble. Still grosses me out.

Never had it . My chickens I mean . Is this hereditary ?
Google says mostly in heavy overweight birds . Infection in cracked feet .

Never saw it in my 30+ years of raising LF birds, makes me wonder if it's hereditary.

That's huge! I have two 4 1/2 year old barred rocks that developed it this year. Had never had a problem before. Both of them are the "heavier-set" of the bunch so I'm thinking age/weight does have something to do with it. The two I removed were less than half that size. Now I'm hoping I got it all.

This was out of a layer hen I got from pullets plus this spring
20 weeks old when I got them in April
Not a heavy bird at all
3 of the 12 I got from them have had bumble foot
I'm wondering if it's because their feet are more tender than ones I raise here from chicks???
