Meet Boris

This is Boris. He is a Barred Rock/mutt cross. He is friendly as heck with people, and quick but gentle with the hens. I bred him with my layers last year and the year before, hoping to get some barred pullets. Didn't work, all his daughters are black.
Boris has hurt his back. At first he could stand and get around if he HAD to, but now even bending his neck for food makes him spasm and hurt. Tried rest, and aspirin. Good-bye, Boris.

Aww, sorry to hear, www. RIP, Boris. You are really going through a rough patch with poultry losses ATM, aren't you? If it's not predators, it's misadventures or injuries. I hope you get that yote before he does any more damage.
