so we have LED throughout our barn....and one unexpected result....metal barn + LED lights on = static on the radio.....sigh. the LEDs interfere with the radio signal (and the metal of the barn doesn't help either)...and i like working with a radio on. so either it's the radio in the dark, or the lights on and radio off, OR lights on window open and antenna for radio hung out the window LOL. i do not recommend this when its blowing snow outside!

Try using your barn tin for antennae . Small radio clamp on radio , short wire & clip to edge of tin . Or put A length of coat hanger thru wall to outside & clip to radio ant ..OR :spamani:

Just a piece of speaker wire (thermostat wire same thing) bare end wrapped around antenna, other end out the window should help. Some of those lights are really horrible for rf interference though...unscrew a bulb at a time to find the offender .

Oh: and regular flourescent bulbs can create health problems in pigeons. Light bulbs operate on a cycle (light, light, light, dark, light) and the eyes on a pigeon cycle faster than flourescent bulbs so to them the light is flickering. I don't recall what health affects it has, or if cfl's cycle the same way (they probably do) or if LED's cycle at all, but worth checking out. Gotta go to LED's Ross.
