Have a listless, crying chick. Is it the heat? Her companions are panting, she is not. Closing her eyes and twitching her head a bit to the side. Helped her to drink. Haven't seen the others pick on her.. She is the same age as the other white chick but hasn't grown well. The black chick is a week older. Have moved them to a cooler place.

I actually have unflavoured (no colour) pedialyte (like gatorade) - should I syringe this into her? Would have to be my favourite bird..

It's best to isolate the sick chick from the others. You did the right thing, moving them to a cooler spot, if they are panting they are definitely hot and chicks aren't very good at regulating body temperature. Good idea to give her some fluids, but don't over do it- a couple of cc's at a time- chickens seem to drink often but not a whole lot at one time. A constantly crying chick defnitely means something is amiss. You could offer some hardboiled egg, but if she's overheated she won't have much appetite, and make sure she has access to cool water after you've given her the pedialyte.

She did eat a bit. Hope I didn't overdo the pedialyte.

Well no worries if you did, I'm sure she will be fine, better than dehydrated. She may have runny

s for a bit so watch for pasty butt.

The only way they have top regulate temp is by putting water through the body so the drink then they defecate with a liquid squishy

.
you can also give super booster to ensure the vits are good.

Another newb question - So I rushed out and bought this Super Booster.. Says to dilute package in 180 L of water. Uhm.. Is that LITRES? What do I do for 3 chicks? Might as well give it to all of them.

That works out to about 2 grams per Litres of water. so base it off of that remembering a teaspoon is 4 Grams.
