I'm thinking of using the Marek's eye drops, anyone use them? My vet can get them, I'm wondering about price per bird, I only have about 50 chicks to do.

Are all your other birds vaccinated?
I'm oretty sure it comes with more than you need and your vet should offer to have you return the unused portion for disposal. Shedding vaccine.

I've got a question....we're vaccinating for ILT in a month. Everything's shutting down for 30 days. Can I vaccinate for both ILT and Marek's at the same time? Anyone know? I'm doing the whole flock, every single bird, every chick, and nothing is coming on or off property until quarantine is over. Can I do both at the same time?

Found this article which seems well written and understandable.
Now I'm starting to worry about going to shows where Mareks vaccinated birds might be since I don't vaccinate for it!

Ummm. What's the point of a vaccine??
"Chickens will become infected with Marek's virus if exposed, regardless of vaccination. Vaccination only gives chickens a chance to built resistance and reduces the instances of symptoms developing."

That's pretty much like cocci. You need to become infected with the parasite to gain immunity and have a better chance of fighting it off. The problem comes when birds who have no exposure or immunity are hit with a heavy load and can't fight it off. he scary part is some of the "hot" variants that are developing.
