Infectious Laryngo Tracheitis ILT Alert
It will say right on the information sheet which form of the vaccine it is. I do an initial dose at age 4+ weeks (or when I'm done hatching) and then a second dose at 10+ weeks. This is all on the enclosed sheet. All my previously vaccinated birds then get a dose every year. It's a good opportunity to blunt my boys spurs and give the birds a health check since I free range. Young birds getting their first dose may show reddening of their eye and this is normal. Do it well before any show so there's no concern with this reddening.

well I hear of you guys all vaccinating for ILT, New Castle, Mareks but its hard to even get a vet to look at a chicken most of them say "I don't do chickens" so you can just call him and pick it up or does he have to come and look at your birds? thank you very much

Dr. Weber is a poultry vet and you can just go to the office an pick up the ILT vaccine. I usually just call ahead to make sure he has some before making the trip. Just take an ice pack with you as it needs to be kept cool  He also does postmortem, so if you have a dead chicken or want to know what it had, take it to him.

He will also courier out in appropriate cooler if you want minimum 10 vials. Easily doable ask for long expiry and get a couple of friends in on it.

Newcomer to the forum... in dificult circumstances. Still waiting for the lab results but it definitely looks like my flock has fallen to ILT. The post-mortem indicated tracheitis of some sort and the sample analysis will if it's ILT, IB or MG, but with an ILT alert in Stormont Dundas Glengarry this summer (my township...) this looks like a strong possibility. I lost 8 juvenile birds over the last 5 days, but realize now my wife and I have been doing it all wrong and are looking at taking the opportunity to do a reset. We've had poor biosecurity practices, poor flock management (mixing new and old from day 1) and non-reputable breeders or elderly hens joining. Also, we co-locate (i.e. same building) our waterfowls and chickens in the winter. Would like people's take on our plan to close the flock until February, then depopulate chickens, sanitize barn SEVERAL TIMES then probably restart on two year cycles, all in, all out, and keep the waterfowl physically separate (different buildings). I plan on implementing strict footwear / clothes control as well. Thougts? Advice? Compassionate support? :)

Hi @Zlorfik and welcome to PTO!
I believe you are the one I replied to on the other poultry site?
Again I'm so sorry you are going through this. I will leave suggestions on your current circumstances to other more experienced folks on here. You've come to the right place for expert advice.
