Yes Jans right about roosters. I had one boy who was nasty to the girls and the egg laying stopped as soon as he matured. He went away and right back up. (Not to mention he also ate eggs!).

hens not laying...?
I have had the same issue in two pens. The birds had been laying and then I just stopped getting eggs. Last nite I rolled an egg acrossed each pen...In both pens the roosters went after the eggs first then the hens joined in and the egg was eaten. I went around a tossed everyone oyster shell and they gobbled it like candy. I'm going to up everyone's calcium and protein for a few days and see if it helps. I'm hoping a diet change will fix my problem, if not off with their heads :)

I got two groups of ameraucanas. Not an eggs yet. Bought some rouens, two drakes three ducks, loads of eggs. Bought some ready to lay reds, holy eggs. But not a friggin blue egg. Even a 4 year old hybrid is pulling her weight. If no eggs by saturday, i'll sell them all in South Mountain.

My ameraucana have just started laying, they are funny take longer to start but lay well into the winter when every one else has stopped. Worth the wait, besides the incubator is full of other breeds of eggs, when they are hatched in will go the ameraucana.

I think something is up, with the long days you should be getting eggs. With the wild birds back, check for lice or mites, they bring that garbage with them. Could be something in the air like a mild virus. If you can get a grower mix that is close to what ever layer type feed you use try that, grower feed usually has a high protein, oyster shells for sure. Is your water is freezing at night, sometimes it affects laying if they can't get a drink when they wake up. Yes don't give up, there is something not clicking here. Even my old grannies are laying for me now.

Nicer days and longer nights, the farm life is getting busy, where I normally get my feed from normally closes around 5pm so I grabbed a bag a rolling acres from the tsc, like magic within 2 days, eggs started appearing, up to 4 a day now it's been awhile since I've seen a pullet egg they're so small!
