cold weather weekend assessment
So now that temp has risen from weekend I noticed this aft that 4 of our hens are sneezing. Eyes, combs etc everything else looked OK. Is sneezing due to temp rising or do they have colds? Also they are inside during winter with good ventilation and heat lamp at night (below Freezing) And they seemed to be bouncing around as usual.

Sounds like Stressed out bronchial problems by ups & downs in weather , heat lamp don't help . . If yu don't have a stress aid med pick one up at feed store , I use tetracycline 250 , others will work & follow exact directions for amount & how long onpkg . Won't hurt to treat all . This is what I'd do myself .Has worked for me in past . Luck

Thanks Ross! Would Neochlor be similar to what you suggest? I shouldn't use heat lamp at all? Even when below - 10

Yep should work . Heat lamps are infrared & don't heat air just objects therefore cold & hot spots which harder on birds in an open setup . I make sure in cold weather that lots of feed available to pig out on , I have free choice whole corn & poultry pellets out all the time in winter . Luck
