I take out HOT water to thaw all my dishes/containers/pails. Then, the layers get a nice warm drink. Because, if they havne't drank all night, and usually thats the case... they can load up on nice warm stuff, and drink all they want. I sure wouldn't want an ice cold drink, first thing after waking up. I go for the HOT coffee, or tea first, lol.

I take out hot tap water. My tap has an aerator screen in it-so it has air in the water and its not boiling....i like carrying water containers (keeps my hands warm) and like bvf i think the birds prefer it. But i too am a hot caffeine addict. In the barn i have heated pet dishes that get hose water...dishes keep it at 4c.
