Guinea fowl saga continues

Back on Aug 16th, on anther thread, I had posted that I found where a guinea hen was sitting on about 24 eggs in tall grass in the field. We had decided to leave it alone to see what happens.
Since then, I had seen the hen once or twice off the nest, heard her calling out to the other three, etc.
Today, after I got home from a sewing club, I said to DH that, enough is enough, a lot of time has passed; it's time to toss the eggs. After all, it's getting pretty cold at night. He agreed, and said that he has seen all 4 guineas wandering together again.
So out I went to toss out scratch for the hens and collect eggs - regular chores. And there were the 4 guineas in the grass..... with 8 or 9 keets!!!
Wonders will never cease.
Now, I'm not sure where the hen will take her keets for the night. Probably back onto the nest; they look more than a day old.
The other three roost on top of the chicken enclosure.
It has been an exciting few weeks - 3 calves born, waiting on a 4th, and now the keets.

I tried to add a short video clip, but I guess it was too large, or something.

DH and I went out at dusk with flashlights in search of the hen and keets with the intention of catching the keets and putting them in the brooder box. They were not to be found. We will have to come up with another plan; the cold weather will be soon upon us.

Very cute. I would leave her with her babies. She will keep them warm. She's worked hard to hatch them.

With all the wet grass and cool temperatures we made a decision for these sub-Saharan African birds. They were out and about this morning, so we snatched them and put them in the brooder box with a heat lamp and food and water.
