Ross - I know that you will make fun of me but, I can't eat my girls. My chickens are for eggs & entertainment (ie pets), but I have no problem eating chicken from someone else's farm.

Not making fun just stating facts . As KB said she will teach others & soon no eggs just all pets . If that’s what you want fine their your birds I respect your values but——& I’ll leave it there . Put her in a situation on her own & make a pet out of her but don’t ruin the rest by taking no real action .

I'm taking your & KB's advice / concern seriously. I'm just trying to break Elvis of the habit in non cooking pot ways. So far she doesn't eat an egg every time one is laid, and none of the others have caught onto what she is doing.ross wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2019 3:48 pmNot making fun just stating facts . You could try some roll away nest boxes. These are on a slope so that the egg rolls back to somewhere the culprit can'r get at it.

I saw this DIY on how to retrofit regular nest boxes into roll-away nest boxes:
Yes, his coop is really REALLY overdue for a clean, but if you can ignore that, it's actually a pretty quick and inexpensive fix for existing nestboxes. You could probably use dollar store cushion grip shelf liner instead of indoor/outdoor carpet in the paint trays too.
Here's another DIY using paint trays and a full nest box build:
