Thanks for your kind offer OC, but I've ordered a pack of 20 (!). Should keep me going for a while {LOL}. Good to know where I can get the pliers if we don't have any.

I won't make it to the show. It's hubby's birthday tomorrow so we're off to the Doner Studio art festival at Lower Brewer's Lock.

Fiber Optics would be fun. It doesn't run down our road, so we're still in the dark ages....

Likely an auto supply store. Apparently Home depot carries snap ring pliers.

Off on a tangent again, a woman I know still has a party line! Remember those?

Seriously? There are still active party lines? I remember them. If you had good people in the group, it was great; otherwise, it could be a nightmare.

Yup! You KNOW you're in the sticks, when...Apparently the ring is supposed to be slightly different depending on who the call is for. Growing up, I couldn't tell the difference and more than once, picked up the phone only to be chastised by a couple of gossipy old ladies!
I couldn't believe party lines still exist either, but a woman I work with has one. Only 30 minutes from me, but it's the only wired phone service on her road.

No kidding! We had a cottage in VT which had a party line (and a nosy neighbor who would always pick up and listen).

Hey I can beat that, We lived in Nepean (still township) in the seventies just off Woodroff and we still had a phone exchange with a woman doing that connecting thing with plugs, you had to tell her the long distance number you wanted and she would make the connection for you.
Then we moved to West Carleton and had a 4 person party line and after the kids got home from school, forget about making a call, unless you got on and yelled "GET OF THE PHONE THIS IS AN EMERGENCY"
Feel like I have gone from horse and buggy to a racket age in a blink of an eye. ;)

Was absolutely planning to go, not sure now, we are having a bit of a high tech trauma, switching to Bell Fibe, probably skipped about two generations of heig tech evolution, from Dial up to Fiber optics, son coming over on Sunday to drag us in to 21st century and I think it's going to hurt.
:focus: :hijacked:

Lol..and this has what to do with chicken peepers?.. someone straighten me out pls

I think it got derailed when we were considering a possibility of me delivering peepers and pliers to the show.
The other reason is that at my age the mind wonders.
I will be very careful in the future not to do that.
