Pecking her new babies - advice please
She hasn't raised any chicks in 2 months. She just finished sitting on dud eggs and walks around calling babies she does t have Regardless, choice is hers and it's entirely her call and I suspect I'll be raising them. I left her last night beside them, but they are in their own little cage.
Thanks everyone for advice.

Chicks are fine. Active running all over in the pen outside. Eating up a storm. Wow! There is one little, extra little, one I am keeping my eye on. Active, but very small.
Silkie mom I agree she can go be free and I didn't do any attempts with her in the dark. But every egg that gets layed she is sitting on. Nope. Out of the nest she goes.
SIlkie mom sits under a bush and calls and calls most of the day. I just don't know what to do with her.

Oh dear, it almost sounds like her hormones have lost the plot. Don't know if that's possible, but that was what popped into my head when I read your post.Maximus wrote:QR_BBPOST Silkie mom I agree she can go be free and I didn't do any attempts with her in the dark. I hope she snaps out of it soon, for her sake as well as yours.
