As it turns out, I'm pretty sure I counted about 14 keets on the 3rd day (today) that I saw them. The day before, I counted 12.
It's interesting that the guinea hen does not react negatively to the chickens getting close to her and her brood, with the chickens eating their crumble.
I seem to be the only one chasing the chickens away.
I also witnessed some keets drinking out of the water font and eating the crumble, so that is a good thing.

I may need to correct myself - there are probably 12 keets. If they would all just stop moving, it would be easier to count! And apparently, as DH did some research, a normal guinea flock is made up of 12 birds.
Anyway, all the keets seem to be doing well. They are still in the barn (which is good), and the hen takes them to the section of the indoor yard where the sun shines through the window.
At around 5pm, when the barn light goes out, the hen is back on the nest with the keets under her.

Guinea hen and keets are still doing well. The hen has brought them outside the barn at least 3 times already. Today while outside the barn, she even took them up a ramp and into a connecting coop. After a while, she took them back into the barn.

Since my last post, a keet went missing and was never found. Now there are 11. It either did not keep up, or was adventurous and could not find it's way back to the others.
Today, however, we witnessed something unique. In the barn, when we went in to feed the birds this morning, there were some keets missing that were not with the mama hen. About 4 four week old keets were under a puffed out barred rock hen! One mama helping out another! Wonders will never cease.

Wow! Has this ever happened before in the history of PTO?

The 11 keets are now 10 weeks old and get to the top roost in the barn as they have been doing for the past few weeks at around 3pm. A couple of them get some warmth under each side of a barred rock hen. And they are visibly becoming more independent, as well as larger. If we get the warm weather that is in the forecast and some grass is visible, I may let all the birds out then.

Thanks. They grow up so fast! They now sound like adult guineas. We are going to have one noisy little farm! A few of them still hang out with their barred rock chicken mama, too.
