can bad habits be broke?

Like Kenya said the roosts have to be higher then the nest boxes.
I don't see any roosts or perches in your pictures? You need 8" perching space per average bird, bit less for bantams and bit more for the giant breeds.

Yes the are, I'll give that a shot, the older hens are on the perch/in the nests while the younger hens are on the floor.

Haven't tried anything yet, been too busy on the farm planting corn and soybeans
