I'm aiming for the first week in April. I'd like an early May hatch. Chicks will have access to the outdoors, fresh grass and there's enough time to set another group of eggs if something goes wrong. And I can expect the pullets to lay in late fall.

Careful you don't cut into the quick, it's astonishing how much a chicken toenail can bleed. I use dog nail clippers, I just nip off a tiny bit as needed. Better to take off small nips than one big cut, pain though it is.

Didn't you just give them Ivomec? If so it's just killed the single round worm your chickens had............... PS Sandy if you dust your poo tarp with a thin dusting of Stall Dry and then dust that again over top of the Stall Dry with a thin layer of shavings, most of the poop will easily roll off ...
