Re: training a new goofball
Thanks y'all! He is ok off leash now outside the house. Now i go to the woods and he is tied to the tractor, and coming back I let him loose (before deer hunting season of course) and he runs around but does follow me home.

training a new goofball
So this spring our 10 year old Doberman mix Duchess died - suspect heat stroke. It was a hot day in May and we were on the trails as we have almost every weekend and she fell behind. I went back and she was expired. So given the covid demand for every animal drove prices to ridiculous, we planned to...

Well good day eh! I see you are all still doing ok. Been a messy year here. Both Carla and I have a messed up knee, plus family soap opera, and this covid lockdown suits us fine: lots to do and lots of elbow room on the farm. Long story short, I have a few birds: cochin bantams, guineas, and a few o...

Good day eh! Yeah it was gonna happen. I got started again, got some bantam cochin chicks and a few standard mutts. We needed some food recyclers, and I understand cochins are almost as broody as silkies. If I get things built properly I'll get some pheasants as well. Moving slow though, buggered my...

Re: Good Morning!
Big find here two weeks ago - my brother discovered that the neighbours property along the road has some ramps aka wild garlic. So I went over that weekend having never picked it before and found that 5 acres of forest was 40% covered in wild garlic on the forest floor. That property changed hands 1...

Re: Good Morning!
Well good day eh! Figured I should say hello. All I have now is a trio of quail and a couple roosters I haven't sent to camp yet. Itching to get pheasants - I always loved mutant (ringneck) pheasants. My shed is well suited for them, but too cold for chickens in winter. The barn has yet to be repurp...
